Digital Nomad Accommodation

To successfully travel the world as a digital nomad, you need to find accommodation that suits your budget and your lifestyle objectives. There are places that you can stay for free or even very cheaply if you look in the right places. If you want to treat yourself to a more luxurious experience, you can choose to spend a bit more money and have the perks of a hotel or a resort.

As a digital nomad, there are a few things that you need to consider when looking for accommodation.

You need to have accommodation that is cost effective. This includes the rental fee, things that are included or excluded in the fee and commenting costs.

Internet connection – Since the work that you will be doing is online or remote, it is important that the internet connection is good enough for you to complete your work.

Quality of the accommodation setup – Your accommodation needs to have enough lighting to perform your tasks. Additionally, you should have an office setup that will allow you to be as productive as possible throughout your working day.

Places where you can find accommodation.

AirBnB – This is my primary choice, as I can choose to stay at a place for an all-inclusive monthly fee. There’s also discounts if you stay at a place for longer than 30 days. It’s easy to setup and you can charge it to your credit card (which is handy if you are entitled to a rewards program).

Couchsurfing.com – Great way to meet new people and to get shown around town locally.

Agoda.com – You can usually find some good short-stay deals if you book in advance and take advantage of ongoing deals.
